T.V, has eluded much of small business advertising because of it’s lofty price of production, but now the platform is free and number one ROI digital media medium is affordable.
The platform is the internet and the modus operandi is creative, organic, engaging video. Period.
Also occurring now, is the ability for everyone to have 1080p HD camera video capability on the go, and easily upload that media to the web.

This provides the combined ability for small business to market on a universal platform, with the number one most conveyable media, to as many people as they are willing to put the effort into reaching.  In a nut shell, giving all local and small business a fighting chance to market their product or service in their community and beyond without an unrealistic price tag on the marketing.

Video is the major focus of all of these shifts.  Radio has been great, but T.V has been king, and for the simple reason that the radio doesn’t give you a visual image of what you are hearing, and T.V does.  It reaches more senses and leaves less to the imagination, thus subconsciously increasing the chances dramatically that the media will be remembered, and even more importantly, associated with that brand or company, when it is remembered.

It’s not that other forms don’t work, it’s just that they are not as good.  They may work better in different environments or unique situations, but if the opportunity is there, there isn’t a better form of media to get your point across and be remembered than video.  Period.  So, small business, you better not be camera shy if you want to gain ground on the most affordable marketing platform that consumers are on constantly.

Back to reality what this means is there is a free platform governed by no specific individual where every individual smaller local business get market themselves with the same rules under fair governance regulation

That translated it what it means for your small business is Google makes the rules it’s Fairgate everybody and if you pages of the roles and stay creative original organic and media-based you’ve got a chance to show up to your client or consumer

How to digitally market your small business online and gain page ranking through video SEO and social media techniques

Marketing your small business online is all about creating interesting, relevant, original content.  Two things you must know about what different media will gain you which advantages or not, and how to craft an efficient template for distribution, will make all of the difference in the success of your overall campaign.

IMG_2085 IMG_2098 IMG_2107 IMG_2110 IMG_2113 The first thing to know is that the “better” your media, the more “points” Google will award your post, and consequently, the more likely Google is to place your media at the top of a related search query.  Now remember, it’s all of these tips in aggregate, so I’m sure some people would say that it doesn’t do much, and if they mean vs a video, then of course they’d be right.  But it’s all about the little steps, that add up to make a large difference in the end.

Right down to taking the time to identify the right long tail keyword SEO plan.  Don’t let anyone tell you what should make perfectly good sense to you, if it’s explained right the first time…..People will say anything to get what they want, or just to flat out be right, or to try and ‘put you in your place’…..and if you only talk to a few people about SEO, it can be very misleading and VERY confusing.

I want you to do me a favor, a little exercise with me, somewhat Socratic, and you can draw your own conclusions.  I want you to clear your mind of any judgements or opinions ESPECIALLY negative views skewed by some event in the past, or something you heard.  Just consider things at your own pace and draw your own conclusions….from scratch.  I’ll cover photographs today, but quickly cover all I know so we can start learning together…..at least I hope someone will give their opinion so I can play with others!

I put it like this b/c I don’t have a horse in the game; meaning it makes no difference to me whether you believe my opinion about what SEO is or my personal answers about how to approach your own small or local online marketing campaign.  I just really enjoy thinking, and sharing and learning, and growing collectively stronger, and more capable as a connected people. So I’d love to hear everyone else’s opinion and ever-changing conclusions about these topics, I certainly don’t claim mine is right, it’s just my own logical thought pattern and the conclusions I have to work with, based on the success and proof I have and have had….nothing more.

Heck, I’d concede that I could have gotten lucky twice or three times in a row……but I think we all know that Google doesn’t allow for that casino conveinence!  So, anyway, I’m just sharing and learning and growing myself……here is how I have drawn conclusions, from asking myself: WWGOODO?  What would Google do?  

I can pretty much count on the certainty of what I assume Google will do, because they have a straight forward objective, with zero room for error, or social uproar rather.  Google is hear to make money like everyone else.  They make money by providing a service to businesses.  Advertising and exposure to the right people: arguably not only the most important thing your business can do as a business, but maybe even more important than what your business is.

Even if it’s a bad business you can make plenty of money before you eventually lose (and all bad things, unmoral things, evil, weak, carless, and just plain illegal and bad for the people of our world ideas and businesses will come to a certain end, the people will not tolerate it, and they shouldn’t ever have to).  Point is if you have a great product and can’t get in front of the right people, then you’ll make way less money than even the “bad” business because of what I hope are obvious reasons.  Don’t tell me that word of mouth will do it, because speaking in majorities, word of mouth can only reach so many people in time, and the “bad business” that marketing perfectly to everyone in the country, at least got one sale before they were exposed! And your small business, most likely would take a lifetime to sell that many units, no matter how good the product was, by word of mouth alone in the exact same situation.   Sorry, I am incredibly too verbose, I just seek to explain the details, sorry.

So what is a ‘better’ picture? Think logically from the standpoint of Google, whose job is basically to make sure that relevant, helpful posts, appear in the the top of your searches, AND to make sure that fraudulent companies, trying to appear relevant to your search, but that are really trying to market you something else, don’t appear in front of legit companies…….What does this tell you?  It tells you that logically a higher resolution photo, probably means your company took extra effort to create a portfolio, with a photographer with an expensive camera, or whatever.  A machine, copying and pasting could not easily do this and maintain a super high quality.  At least its A LOT more likely that a legit company did it.

All signs that you are a legitimate company, and not one falsifying data. So craft media with good, quality photos, along with inviting, interesting, engaging text to draw your readers in.  Just remember that no text you could possibly write will catch their eye like a photo, so make sure its the first thing they see when they go to view your post so you get the best chance at engaging them.

How to market your small business online with video SEO and social media

Handcrafting your digital media for online marketing will be the most critical component in your search engine visibility and your page ranking campaign.  As placement on the first two pages of a google search becomes harder and harder, local and small businesses rush to figure out just what SEO and video have to do with their posting power on the internet and what your search power rankings really are, what it means, and how you effect them.

My father has a custom cabinetry and fine woodworking shop located in Barboursville Virginia.  He and his partner, have been designing the most elaborate and exquisite handcrafted custom kitchens and woodworking interiors that I have ever seen, and they’ve been doing it for over four decades now.

cherry hardwood, custom woodworking, custom cabinetryNow, back to reality.  You have a forty three year old custom cabinetry business that, for all effective purposes, has been digitally non existent for that entire time period.  Which apparently has been fine, because business continues to proceed.   I think we can all agree that custom designed and individually handcrafted, high end design/build cabinetry in 1973 was not videoed on an iPhone and uploaded to a custom cabinetry You Tube channel, embedded in your website and posted to the first page organically when the search phrases are typed in that identify with that custom wood shop’s success.  BUT that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t ample opportunity to have gotten photographic media throughout those years.  Thankfully, Jaeger and Ernst’s photo library is vast and beautiful, and very reflective of the beautiful woodworking that they are accustomed to being known for.  Making the transition from hard copy media to digital format, the next logical step….

DO NOT LOAD THESE PICTURES TO YOUR WEBSITE AND WALK AWAY THINKING YOU”VE ACCOMPLISHED ANYTHING AT ALL….YOUR WEBSITE MOST LIKELY HAS LESS RANKING POWER THAN MY TWITTER ACCOUNT…..AND THAT’S JUST A SAD, HARD COLD FACT, THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH, AND IF YOU WANT ANY SORT OF SEARCH VISIBILITY OR PAGE RANKING CAPABILITIES, YOU WILL HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO DO.

This iPad alone has the fastest ability to create, craft, edit, upload and distribute digital media content.  In fact the reality is that the iPad is going to revolutionize the way that we do web design, SEO, video, and social media, least of all to mention graphic digital design.  I can do more on the iPad photoshop app, from in my car or out in the field, faster than any graphic designer in any town, and probably faster than you could even get the person on the phone……and before I’m back in the office, that digital media is already engineering and uploaded to both my website AND various congruent and connected social medias.  And will probably be a week before you here back from the graphic designer, and I don’t know where you’ll think to upload it to.  I can only pray that you don’t plan on just uploading that digital photograph of your local business to just your website and calling it a day.  If so, you need to get ready and prepared for many many years of never being seen online, unless you physically make someone type you exact web address into a search bar.

When was the last time that someone knew the business they were going to use,  BEFORE they looked online for the product and professional availability of those services?  Maybe sometimes, but I think we can operate on the assumption that most people DO NOT know which business they are going to choose.  That’s half the reason they are online in the first place.  The other being, to educate themselves about the situation they are looking into.  Point being, if you want to market successfully online in today’s timeline social media world, you better be prepared to upload a TON of media, and have it all properly labeled and described, connected and distributed through at least five major social media channels.

THAT IS UNLESS YOU START GETTING INTO VIDEO SEO.  The art of handcrafting perfectly ranked, and You Tube engineered video digital media, is likened to the art of the seasoned master craftsman, and just as critical a component to the end product.

VIDEO is the only element that can supercharge your old and stale, non performing website.  In fact, there is a ninety percent chance that an eningeering set of relevant videos embedded into you website is the ONE AND ONLY single thing you would need to do, in order to help you web page’s search visibility and ranking power online.
